Being an adult is boring. Tonight, I:
1. downgraded my cell phone plan from a voice/data/text plan for an AT&T iPhone, to a voice/text plan for a basic, no-frills dumb phone
2. made arrangements to sell my two-year old iPhone (32GB; 3GS model)
3. purchased a refurbished iPod nano to store my music since it's more exercise-friendly.
4. debated also purchasing a refurbished iPod touch since I do have some iPhone/iPod touch apps (both free and paid) that I'd hate to see go to waste. I get decent WiFi access 90 percent of the time when I'm out and about anyway.
5. Closing credit cards! I respect the credit card company's right to set APRs that are higher than my age. I also respect my right to close all but one card (for emergencies).
6. And I'm getting LASIK, barring any final reservations from my doctor. People keep warning me that I might go blind-- "You only have one pair of eyes!" I appreciate the concern but I find the reasoning somewhat facetious. Yes, I COULD maybe possibly go blind. But if I live to be 101, I'll probably go blind by then. Heck, even if I don't live to be 101, I could develop diabetes at 70, come down with glaucoma at 85, and then go completely blind at 90.
It's not like I'm getting back-alley LASIK, for God's sake, where some wino just goes at my eyes with a rusty screwdriver. Have a little faith, people.
