I feel like a fake, commenting on today. I was lucky enough to have not lost anyone in Manhattan, Shanksville, or at the Pentagon that day. I wasn't anywhere near any of the crash sites. I could watch the tragedy unfold from the safety of Arcadia's campus. Class had only started a few days before, because back then, Arcadia was still waiting until after Labor Day to start the Fall semester.
I'd stopped for gas on my way to school, pulling into the full-service pump by mistake. I don't think it was the first time I'd used a full-service pump but I've never been able to since then. I don't know why.
My journal from that week is around here somewhere.
